The park covers 400 acres of what used to be a mainly industrial area.
The Rising Sun Colliery and Moor Edge Colliery were two of the pits that operated here. There was also a brick works, a household rubbish dump and a quarry.
The site has been transformed over recent years by
the Rising Sun Farm Trust in partnership with North Tyneside Council.
