The Chinese zodiac follows a 12-year cycle. Each year in the cycle is named after an animal. This particular year is the Year of the Pig, or to be more exact
the Year of the Golden Pig, which comes around every sixty years.
As in previous years, the celebrations, organised by The Chinese Festivity Group, took place in and around Stowell Street, otherwise known as China Town.
